Why is it squinting?

It's angry. Furrowed brow.

It isn't radical enough. It's like they took the current mustang and grafted on a fusion front end. Not bad though, I can't wait to see one on the road.

I like the front end. Nice and aggressive. The middle and back are too smooth/rounded for my tastes. The aggressive front just doesn't seem to fit the plain back.

I hope not. It looks like the current Mustang with a Fusions face roughly grafted on.

This area right here looks wonky.
Everything else, muy bueno.

Just read C&D info. A 500 HP GT, twin turbo flat crank V8, new Boss 302 AND 350 GT? Holy shit this sounds amazing.

Looks like a bass, about to bite a lure.

Eh, it's only a rendering.

Not as radical as I would have liked, but it does look SMALLER, and SMALL means LIGHTER, and LIGHTER means, uh...FUNNER.

2.3 turbo 4 with 310 hp?
Interesting. Very interesting.

I just can't get behind the I4 — and I drive a Miata. What's the point of one of these if it doesn't have a ridiculous engine?
![]() 10/27/2013 at 23:01 |

I think it's worth checking out. The turbo 4 comes with 310 hp... 10 more than a 2005 Mustang GT.

Not bad, but where are the hips and C scoop? Why no hips?!
Also, that door handle is massive!
![]() 10/27/2013 at 23:10 |

Those hips had better be lying.

IDK about it. overall shape is OK, though not fond of the back. The front is pretty nice.
Although it's just a render, honestly, it just doesn't look different enough to me. I am hoping for a bigger change.

Hmmmmm.
The wheels are shit. Other than that, I say it's the right direction.

Hmmm that accent line running through the handle makes it look a tad saggy, and I miss the aggressive rear haunches. I think the rear is going to be much more different based on spy shots, but I would be fine if the front came out looking like that. Also, is it just me or do every new car's rear quarters look like a BMW's?

It's like an Evo and a camaro had unprotected sex and an STD baby was the outcome. . .

Those inline 4's are gonna make for some awesome junkyard project cars in a couple of years. Ample supply of cheap wrecked Mustangs and a 300+ hp lightweight RWD powerplant with ample spare parts? Quick, make a list of what we can cram these in!

I like.

Sign me up; I like this a lot.
There's just enough heritage being displayed here. Vehicles that stay too retro lose their flair pretty quickly. The new Camaro boasts this; the Challenger stays on the retro end. Guess which one is selling, in droves, more than the other?
The car, as a whole, flows very nicely. Yes, the pronounced hips over the rear arches are not present, but then again can you say the previous models had hips? I've never really seen them. To me, they've been very slab sided. This one has more hips than the outgoing model.
The body lines accentuate each other very well. Gone are extraneous, vestigial styling flairs such as C-scoops and the like. The crease through the door handle accentuates the subtle curves of the rear. The headlight line going straight through to the windows feels organic. The aggressive and functional front end pulls off the gaping maw that seems to be the trend these days much better than a lot of other vehicles available today. The extractors add a nice functional (?) flair that symbolizes the car's purpose.
My only issue with these renders is the rear. The rear 1/4 shot makes it look like an upsized Toyobaru. The bumper is dull and understyled for the rest of the car. The taillights look flat and uninspired.
Other than the rear end, the only thing keeping me from having tons of feels for this car is that I have no idea what the interior is like. If they move away from the previous model's design theme, which felt incredibly cramped and over-plasticked to me, this will be a major contender for my next vehicle. Don't really care if people think it looks too much like the Fusion - The Fusion is a beautiful sedan. Ford has really hit it on the nose with this new design language and I'm a fan of it.

Here's a spy shot of the new interior.
![]() 10/28/2013 at 09:57 |
|
Yeah I saw the shot, there's just not enough viewable there to make an impression on me. I'm reserving my feels on the interior for some better, more full-scale shots.
![]() 10/28/2013 at 10:00 |

Well, at least it can't be any worse than the Camaro interior.
![]() 10/28/2013 at 10:04 |

That, my friend, is true.
My wife loved the Camaro. Absolutely, at one time was considering killing for one, loved it. Then we visited the local dealership and she sat in one. 2 minutes later, complete backpedal and will not even consider purchasing one now because the interior is just so damn shitty

It's such a shame too. The car looks so good from the outside.

Oh, neat. I don't doubt that it'll be a sweet engine, I'd just never buy it. Then again, I wouldn't buy it anyway.

Do I detect some Aston'ishness here?
Oh yeah....
Ohai there.
But just to be 100% sure....
